Hello everyone and welcome!
My name is Bibiana Prinoth and I am a first year PhD student in astrophysics at Lund University, Sweden. I’m 25 years old and I finished my master’s at ETH Zürich in physics with my thesis on “Detectability of Radial Velocity Planets with ELT / METIS” in June 2020.
As of September 2020, I started my PhD at Lund Observatory working on high-resolution spectroscopy of exoplanets using cross-correlation to look at the atmospheric composition of the hottest gas-giant planets in extra-solar systems.
In addition to research, I’m very interested in teaching students about the beautiful world of physics.
When not working, I enjoy writing and blogging about my life and research on a more understandable level than papers. Check out my blog, if you’re interested! Furthermore I love spending my time doing sports; I played soccer for nearly 15 years, enjoy running and like to try new sports like dancing.
