My name is Bibi and I am the responsible person behind this website. I chose to create this blog to reach out to friends and family and let them know what my life is about.
In September, I will be starting my PhD in High-Resolution Spectroscopy of Exoplanets at Lund Observatory in Sweden. Sweden is quite far away from the place I used to live for the past 24 years: Switzerland. Born and raised, I spent all my life in Switzerland and now – following my dreams in becoming a successful researcher – I am leaving this beautiful country I call home – at least for the time being.
In order to be able to communicate with friends and family during this time, I decided to do this in the form of this blog. I will post updates on my journey on how I leave Switzerland and get settled in Sweden (even though currently this might not be the easiest task to do). I will inform you in an easy and hopefully understandable way about what I am working on in research and show you the stunning place I will call home during the time of my PhD – Lund. This way you get to know all the galactic gossip happening here!
You might wonder, how I came up with the name Galactic Gossip and there I have a confession to make: I owe this fantastic name to Andreas who has more imagination than any other human being on this planet. 😉
Despite the current COVID-19 situation, I couldn’t be happier to have accepted this position back in January after spending New Year’s Eve in Göteborg. Sweden here I come (soon)!
